School meals
Family Dining is an approach that seeks to change meals times and the lunch experience for children. Lunchtimes can be difficult for many children- Family Dining works to help and support children through this by making lunchtimes more focussed and put in structures to support children have a better lunch experience resulting in children having a a more relaxed approach to eating and reclaiming this space and time as a social experience.
Children choose, serve and eat on their own terms.
Free school meals
Did you know the government gives additional funding to schools for those children entitled to free school meals (pupil premium)?
Schools use this money to obtain additional staff and resources that help improve the quality of education. To find out whether your child qualifies for pupil premium, and hence whether their school would receive additional funding, please fill in the details using the link below.site.
Breakfast club
Breakfast club is run by school staff
07:30 to 08:45 each day.
The current cost of the club, which must be booked in advance, is £4.50 per day (£22.50 per week) for children in Reception to Year 6, and £6.50 per day (£32.50 per week) for children attending Nursery.
All payments must be made one week in advance via Parent Pay. Please note that if your child is absent from school on a day you have booked, payment for that day will still be required.
The sessions are structured to offer the children a variety of activities including outside play, where possible. Whitehall Primary School operates a healthy eating policy and a range of healthy snacks will be offered at each session. All of which will follow the Borough’s guidelines on healthy eating.
There is a qualified First Aider on site at all times. All first aid matters will be dealt with in line with whole-school procedures. By choosing to attend Breakfast Club, it will be taken that permission has been given for your child to be given treatment and/or taken to the nearest hospital in your absence, in the case of an emergency.
Behaviour policy
Children are expected to demonstrate good behaviour at all times during Breakfast club, in-line with the school’s behaviour policy. Where a child consistently demonstrates unacceptable behaviour, the parents and relevant staff will be involved in discussing the most appropriate response/action. This may include your child being withdrawn completely from Breakfast Club.
Emergency attendance can be requested and arranged and will be charged at the day rate. Please call the school office if this is needed.
If you pay by Tax Free scheme or childcare vouchers, you must email: parentpay@whitehall.waltham.sch.uk with the full details of your payment, including date paid, amount paid and any reference number and the dates and sessions that the payment

Support accessing food
over a holiday period
If your child is eligible for free school meals and/or you are worried about having enough food this holiday period, please speak to a member of staff so that we can support you. The school will work with you to ensure that all support is discretely provided. Our normal support for families in this situation includes food vouchers/referral to the local foodbank.
We know that sometimes families are faced with unexpected difficulties during the school holiday, or when the school is closed. During these times families can contact the school via office@whitehall.waltham.sch.uk and we will get back to you. Alternatively, you can find information on getting support with food and financial problems on the Waltham Forest Council website.
